Today it was the "open house" event at our sons' school, my wife Aurora and I attended the event, they are attending elementary for grades 1st. and 4th. The school is brand new as they finished construction literally about two weeks ago, the school itself is a large complex with the latest and coolest "school infrastructure". Apart from the usual Computer Lab, for example, computer stations are spread around the halls outside most of the classrooms, I managed to snatch up a picture of their secret weapons:

Just think about how much money the school will save in licenses, "antivirus" (and their updates), not to mention the good the school will do to these kids' minds, go zebras! :)

Hey Scott,

Sorry for the late response, today the new year started, and I am just coming back from the school and in fact, it is a pleasant surprise to see the same PCs in the hallway but this time with even more (educational) programs installed.

Indeed the systems are good ol' plain ubuntu 9.10, no idea if they are upgrading to 10.04 or even 10.10, for the time being, the computers are used for all computer classes for at least 1-5 grades, and I honestly do not see the kids missing on anything the "other" OS might provide, if anything, it is less headaches for the SysAdmins not having to upgrade licenses for whatever retarded software could be on a Win PC or "Antivirus" licenses/definitions or any of that nonsense.

Julio
